i made this today

we have been set a short film project for the next few weeks of uni to experiment with different media and ways of showing people what we do digitally. the first film had to be something about me, so i decided to show my reasons for buying second hand clothing. i also wanted to show off my forever growing jumper collection :)

thank you to the amazing joey everett for filming it for me.
he's pretty fab.

slow textile design

this term i have focued my project around the slow textile design movement. making everything by hand, painting, stitching, embellishing and lino printing fabrics and interiors. my visual research was the charleston farmhouse interior and works by the bloomsbury group and vanessa bell.
my final product was a multi use fabric for interiors all hand painted and stitched. i don't feel like the photos i have taken do it justice, so here are a few close up shots...

hello!

i have finally returned to my blog after last week's final uni hand in and spending the week decluttering my bedroom... a very late, overdue spring clean.

now everything is a little less cluttered and deadlines are gone (kind of) i can get back to making and blogging :)

i thought i would make everyone aware of oxfam's current competition... WIN TWO TICKETS TO THIS YEARS ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL. wowws.

This year, Oxfam will be launching its festival fashion shop at Isle of Wight. Our trendy shop team will
be hand-selecting the clothing for each festival this year, and we want your help. So show us your Isle of Wight Festival style and we'll make sure the shop is packed full of all those fashion pieces you can't wait to get your hands on.  And in return you'll be in with a chance to win 2 weekend camping tickets to the festival - to see the Oxfam Festival Shop, and all the bands, for yourself!  Just send us a picture of your Isle of Wight Style (on twitter or instagram using #MyIOWstyle), we'll be posting them all onto our Fashion blog (you'll be famous!) and then tell all of your friends to vote for you!

How to enter:
In order to order to be eligable for this competition entrants must:
  1. 'Like' Oxfam Fashion on either Twitter (@Oxfamfashion) or Instagram (oxfamgb)  - we need to DM you if you're the winner!
  2. Style an individual festival look including a piece of vintage/second-hand clothing
  3. Tweet @ us your picture, or post on instagram using the hashtag #MyIOWstyle (these must be set to public so we can find them). You have until the 3rd of June to enter your outfit before the competition closes for a public vote.
  4. All entries will be posted on the Oxfam Fashion blog on Monday 4th June, so get your friends to vote/like your outfit to help you win!
Also don't forget to check out the Isle of Wight festival Facebook page facebook.com/iwfestival and Twitter @IsleofWightFest for all the latest updates and announcements!!
